STAMFORD RECREATION SERVICES PRESCHOOL PROGRAMS
As we prepare to change seasons, Stamford Recreation Services staff is busy preparing for a variety of fall programs. One of our highly popular programs is for our preschoolers. We offer preschoolers a variety of classes for children ranging in age from 18 months to 4 years old. This allows for parents to spend some quality time with their children in a different environment while their children are able to learn and have fun with other children.
Classes are held both at Zion Lutheran Church and at Break Thru Family Fitness. We offer a special class for children 18-24 months, which is for our little ones to interact and meet new friends while engaging in new activities. For the 2 ½ to 4 year olds we offer sports classes along with art classes, cooking classes and music classes. Spicing up each season with a fun spin on learning, our preschoolers read stories, and have the opportunity to participate in an assortment of crafts. They all love to play and run in the gym learning the fundamentals of sports.
Our Preschool Program Coordinator, Monica Rao, is going into her 6th year with us. Each year gets more exciting and fun. Her hard work and creativity have helped the program to grow and blossom through the years. She has added a variety of fun and educational programs for the children. Ms. Monica as her little guys and girls like to call her, is always engaging the children in exciting and positive experiences. Monica Rao says “the children in preschool classes are so cute, especially in the Fall session because a lot of them feel that they are going to school like their older siblings. A lot of parents tell us how their kids cannot wait for the next week for another class! And in the Winter the parents too can't wait for the next week because there aren't many things they can do with their very young children in cold weather.” Ms. Monica has the joy of working with the preschool aged children and once they graduate from our preschool classes, Ms. Monica has the pleasure of teaching siblings and friends of past preschool goers.
After our preschoolers move on from our special preschool classes we hope to see many of them in our after school classes, special events and camps. |
