ANOTHER SERVICE FROM STAMFORD SENIOR CENTER

Representatives from the U.S. Postal Service will be at The Stamford Senior Center, 888 Washington Boulevard, 2nd Floor, on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm to accept passport applications and to take passport photos appointments are required. Call the Senior Center to schedule at 977-5151.

Here's what you need to know:

To apply for a passport, applicants need to bring an original copy of their birth certificate (with a raised seal) and proof of identity (i.e. driver’s license). Children under 14 require that both parents be present and need a long form birth certificate. Postal staff will have a camera available for passport photos for an additional $15. Passport fees are $67 ($52 for children under 16), made payable to the Department of State, and $30, made payable to the U.S. Postal Service. Only cash or checks can be accepted. Processing takes about 6 to 8 weeks and there will be expedited mailing services available if needed. This is a convenient opportunity to obtain a passport, which will be valid for 10 years (or 5 years if under age 16). Any questions, please call the Stamford Post Office at (203) 321-3915 or (203) 321-3910.
