The primary responsibility of the Office of Economic Development is to create a City of balanced economic growth with a stable tax base and a high quality of life for all members of its diverse population. Integral to this effort is retaining Stamford's flourishing corporate base and to attract new businesses to Stamford.
Economic Development works closely with Stamford's business community to help resolve problems that they face and to help make Stamford a business-friendly City. In addition to working in close partnership with Stamford's corporate community the Department also works with other agencies such as SACIA, Chamber of Commerce and City, State and Federal officials and agencies.
