Description of Programs

 

The Urban League's Youth Development Programs are designed to encourage the development of positive character traits in urban youths aged 14 to 19All of the League's offerings promote empowerment and success in educational and career pursuits; our programs stress academic achievement, economic empowerment and sustainability, health and fitness, cultural appreciation, and community leadership and civic responsibility.

 

The Urban League's youth-development curriculum focuses upon six key content areas, all of which promote post-secondary-school matriculation or meaningful workforce preparation:

  • Technology Awareness
  • College 101 and SAT Prep
  • Financial Literacy for Youth (FLY)
  • Health and Fitness
  • Cultural Appreciation
  • Community and Civic Responsibilities

 

Other Programs:

  • NULITES (National Urban League Incentives to Excel and Succeed)
