Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant

 

Project Description:

1)      Retrofit of street lighting to high efficiency LED lights.

Estimated total cost: $788,516           Estimated ARRA amount: $723,793

 

2)      Lighting retrofits in schools and installation of energy management systems in municipal buildings.

Estimated total cost: $296,839           Estimated ARRA amount: $254,452

 

3)      Installation of electric vehicle charging stations with solar array.

Estimated total cost: $125,428           Estimated ARRA amount: $125,428

 

 

Federal Transit Capital Investment Grant

 

Project Description:  Construction of the Stamford Urban Transitway (SUT), a 1.6 mile fixed guideway connector.  ARRA funds will be used to accelerate construction of a minimum operable segment (MOS) of the next phase continuing from Elm Street and going north along Myrtle Avenue. The MOS will begin at the Elm Street/ Myrtle Avenue/ Jefferson Street intersection and extend approximately 750 feet north on Myrtle Avenue.  This segment includes Right of Way acquisition of four (4) full take properties and seventeen (17) partial takes. 

           

Estimated total cost: $65,000,000      ARRA amount:  $2,800,000

Public Improvements

Saint Luke’s Community Services, Inc.            Franklin Commons Window Replacement

Phase II replacement of 75 windows in facility for shelter and services.

Estimated total cost:  $72,615            ARRA amount:  $63,315

 

Housing

Pilgrim Towers, Inc.                                        Rehabilitation of Pilgrim Towers elderly apartments

Phase I window replacement for 14 units and site drainage for 74 elderly apts. (Partial funding)

Estimated total cost:  $347,925          ARRA amount:   $44,549

 

Stamford Cross Road Residences

Replacement of roofing and eave reconstruction for 24 elderly apartments.

Estimated total cost:  $288,533          ARRA amount:   $120,000
