(203) 977-4775 | The City of Stamford Community Development Department (SCD) is the conduit for federal block grant assistance for Stamford's neighborhoods. For 26 years SCD has delivered United States Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funds to Stamford's qualifying neighborhoods.
SCD has made loans and grants to community groups and housing owners. Federal programs have emphasized reinvestment in our community infrastructure--streets, sidewalks, housing. Funds have also been provided to organizations that foster the development of people: day care, employment training, and programs for special needs populations.
