Right of Way Acquisition Information
Property management, appraisal, acquisition, relocation, and demolition of properties necessary for construction of the Stamford Urban Transitway have been identified. The SUT will affect 71 parcels of land that include commercial, industrial, and residential properties. There will be both total taking and partial property takings, in order to implement the proposed Project. Approximately 16 businesses and 33 families will require relocation as a result of the Project.
Stamford will acquire only the properties necessary to build the SUT. Stamford will follow the Federal Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970, as amended, and associated implementation regulations. A Property Acquisition Agency contracted by Stamford will assist relocating displaced persons/businesses by contracting with a relocation firm.
