Office Location: 7th Floor Government Center Office Hours: 8:00 - 4:00 PM Plan Review : 8:00 -11:30 AM General Info: (203) 977-5700 Fax: (203) 977-4163 The Building Process Commercial Construction Residential Construction About the Department Research Request CT Fire Code & Regulations Getting Code Books Permits / Forms Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC Request A Building Inspection  Permit and Certificate Fees Effective Monday August 30, 2010 The Building Inspection Department will have new hours for Plan Review: They are as follows:  8am-12pm: Walk in hours for the general public 12pm – 2pm: Appointment only for Architects To schedule an appointment please, call the plan reviewer at 203-977-4170 Effective July 1, 20010 the State Education fee will be $.26 cents.     **PUBLIC NOTICE – TO ALL PROPERTY OWNERS**   BUILDING BUREAU CITY OF STAMFORD   As of April 1, 2011 the City of Stamford –Building Bureau will increase investigation fees for permits that have not obtained final inspections for approval or occupancy.   If you allow occupancy before final inspection of the work for which this permit is being sought and prior to obtaining a Certificate of Occupancy or Certificate of Approval, as appropriate, the fee will increase to $1,000 (from $200); If you request a Certificate of Occupancy more than one year after final inspections have been performed or partial Certificate of Occupancy have been issued for construction, alterations or of the completion of the work for which such permit is being sought, the fee will increase to $1,000 (from $200); or If you fail to obtain a Certificate of Approval within one year of the completion of the Electrical, Plumbing or Mechanical work for which such permit is being sought, you shall be subject to a fee of $200.        Questions can be directed to the Building Bureau @ 203-977-5700.
