The City of Stamford operates 3 waste disposal centers:
Katrina Mygatt Recycling Center (Garbage and recycling accepted)
Scofieldtown Road Recycling Center (Recycling ONLY — No garbage accepted)

Important Information
- At the recycling drop-off centers, unload your items and place them in the correct containers.
- There are separate containers for recycling, metal, and yard waste.
- Attendants are available to direct you and answer your questions.
- Separating items by category as you load them in your car at home will make your job easier when you arrive.
- Make sure you have a permit before you enter the recycling center. Click here for information on obtaining a permit.
- Free compost is available to residents at both recycling centers.

Directions
From East Main Street, drive south on Myrtle Avenue to Jefferson Street, then turn left on Magee Avenue. The recycling center is on your left.
From Tresser Boulevard, drive south on Canal Street, then turn left on Jefferson Street, then right on Magee Avenue. The recycling center is on your left.
Hours
Monday - Friday: 7:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Saturday: 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Please arrive early and allow time for processing.
Scofieldtown Road Recycling Center
Corner of Scofieldtown Road and Rockrimmon Road, North Stamford
Please bring recycling and yard waste only. Garbage is not accepted at this center.

Directions
Take High Ridge Road to Skymeadow Drive, then turn left on Scofieldtown Road. The intersection with Rockrimmon Road is about 2,000 feet on your right.
Hours
Monday and Tuesday: 7:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. - 2:45 p.m.
Saturday: 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Please note:
The Scofieldtown Road Recycling Center DOES NOT accept household garbage. Bring all household garbage to the Katrina Mygatt Scale House.

Residential Dumping Services:
Monday - Friday: 7:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Saturday: 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Please note:
You may bring up to 200 lbs. of material per day in a passenger vehicle, free. If it looks like you have over 200 lbs., your vehicle will be weighed and you will be charged $4.10 per 100 pounds of additional weight.
The residential dumping area closes at 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and at 2:30 on Saturday. You must be in line no less than 30 minutes prior to Scale House closing.
The following materials are not accepted for disposal: tires, tree stumps, asbestos shingles, chemicals, hazardous waste, and oil-based paint. Click here to find out where to dispose of these items.
Different rules apply for commercial vehicles, pickups, cars with trailers, rental trucks, and vehicles with combination or commercial plates.
