EXPERIENCE

Chief of Police- Stamford Police Department, Stamford CT. January 10, 2005-present

Responsible for management of police service delivery including Animal Control, School Crossing Guards and city wide communications in a diverse community of 120,000; chief executive of a policy agency with 500 employees-307 sworn, 110 crossing guards, 43 communications personnel and 40 civilian members. Manage a 42 million dollar budget.

Chief of Police-Framingham Police Department 1987-June 30, 2001

Responsible for management of police service delivery in a diverse community of 71,000; chief executive of police agency with 200 employees 125 sworn, 46 civilian and 52 auxiliary members. Administer $8.7 million budget. Developed a community policing initiative, including emphases on youth, schools, domestic abuse, narcotics abuse and citizen participation in policing. Have greatly increased police respect among diverse groups of residents. Managed 6.8 million dollar renovation/reconstruction of police facility.

For the Board of Selectmen, Town of Tisbury, Massachusetts, served as the monitor of the Tisbury Police Department for the Board of Selectmen. May to September 2001

For the Board of Selectmen, Town of Westwood, Massachusetts, served as the interim Chief of Police of the Westwood Police Department. Responsible for the delivery of police services as well as coordinating the search for and selection of a new police chief. February 2003 to August 2003.

For the City of Providence Rhode Island Assisted with the development and implementation of a strategy and threat assessment for the Providence School Department and the City of Providence Police Department; working through contract with Crest Associates, Boston, Massachusetts. March 2003 to February 2004

For the United States Department of Justice, ICITAP program; Technical Assistant to the Nigerian Police Force, Kaduna, Nigeria; worked in the City of Kaduna, a city of 4 million people, to improve the relationship between the community and the Nigerian Police Force, April to June 2004
