The Stamford Health Department Environmental Health and Inspections Division issues permits for the construction of new wells and for units providing treatment of well water.
The State of CT Public Health Code Sections 19-13-B51a to 19-13-B51m include those provisions governing the construction, testing and disinfecting of wells. Environmental Health Inspectors in reviewing the well permit application and water testing results verify compliance with the State Public Health Code.
