Health Department Laboratory: Clinical Testing

Blood Lead Screening:

We test children under the age of 6 years of age who are residents of Stamford for blood lead. This is a screening test which will see if the child may have been exposed to any lead.

This screening is available on Monday and Wednesday mornings from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon. Results are usually available within two weeks. There is no charge for this testing.

Sexual Transmitted Disease Testing:

Testing is available for Gonorrhea, Syphilis, Herpes, Chlamydia, HIV and other diseases.

Clinics are at Franklin Commons on several days:

Monday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:30 to 11:45 AM.

There is no charge for this testing.

Women's Clinic:

Blood work for Hematocrit, Hemoglobin, RBC, WBC, Total Cholesterol and more.

Please call (203)977-5933 for information and an appointment.

Clinic is held twice monthly.

Other Services Available:

Anemia Screening, Total Cholesterol Screening, Diabetes Screening, Strep Throat Cultures, Pregnancy Testing and more.

Please call (203)977-5840 for information concerning these services.

The name of a treating physician MUST be provided for these services.
