Dog Training Classes at the Stamford Pound

For Pound Pups, Adopters, & The General Public

Classes are open to everyone, no matter where you got your dog.

WEDNESDAY NIGHTS ~1 hour ~ No Pre-Registration Required

Classes start at 6:30 pm ~ Please try to arrive about 6:20

~ Your dog must be wearing a slip (choke) collar and be on a 6 foot lead ~

~ NO flexi or retractable leashes should be used ~

MAKE SURE YOUR DOG LOOKS COOL FOR SCHOOL!

Ask us for help getting your pup outfitted

Classes are given by trainer Rob Mullin, a renowned expert in the field of dog behavior.

Classes are held outdoors, behind the Animal Shelter building (dress accordingly).

Cancellation of class due to inclement weather, holidays, or anything else will be posted on our city website. Also listen for weather cancellations to be announced on local radio stations, AM 1400-WSTC, AM 1350-WNLK, FM 95.9-WFOX & FM 96.7-WCTZ

Classes are NOT funded by the City, but are made possible through private donations. Contributions are greatly appreciated! A $5 donation per class is suggested. The Animal Shelter Assistance Program, Inc., which sponsors the class, is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt charitable organization, and all contributions are tax-deductible.

Directions coming from I-95 southbound

Take I-95 South to Stamford, Exit # 8 (Elm Street)

At end of ramp, turn LEFT onto Elm Street and immediately get into right-hand lane.

Go under RR bridge and take 2nd RIGHT onto Jefferson St. (At the corner of Donut Delight)

A next light, turn LEFT onto Magee Ave. (you'll see Buick dealership in front of you)

We are at # 201 Magee Ave., 1/2 mile down on the right, across from the Ford dealership.

The building is light green – entrance to office is in the back of building.

Directions coming from I-95 northbound

Take I-95 North to Stamford, Exit # 8 (Atlantic Street)

At bottom of ramp, continue straight and immediately move into the right hand lane.

Go one block to next light & turn RIGHT onto Canal Street

At next light, turn LEFT onto Jefferson Street

At next light, turn RIGHT onto Magee Ave.

We are at # 201 Magee Ave., 1/2 mile down on the right, across from the Ford dealership.

The building is light green – entrance to office is in the back of building.
