Animal Care And Control: SNIP Program

What is the S.N.I.P. Program? The Spay Neuter Incentive Program (S.N.I.P.) is a program designed to offer City of Stamford owners of PitBull or PitBull mix dogs low cost spay/neuter surgeries and rabies & distemper/parvo vaccinations. This program has been made possible by a generous grant from the ASPCA and Fairfield County Hunt Club.

How much does it cost? The dog owner is responsible for a $10.00 CASH ONLY contribution.

How do I apply for this program? Residents of Stamford must fill out an application to apply. (Download the application here) Then you must bring your application along with proof of residency to the Animal Control Office on Magee Avenue. Proof of residency can be a drivers license, state ID with street address, phone or electric bill with the owner's name and street on it. The $10.00 CASH ONLY contribution is collected and then Rippowam Animal Hospital is notified of the dog owner information. The dog owner (once approved) then makes an appointment with them. Rippowam Animal Hospital will perform the surgery on puppies as young as 8 weeks if they are healthy.
