Tim Abbazia has served as finance director and consultant for several organizations. He has extensive financial management experience with both large multi-national and small entrepreneurial companies. Tim’s responsibilities at Warnaco in Milford included managing the budget and forecasting process for the companies various subsidiaries that comprise $1.5 billion in annual revenues. He helped identify $15 million of corporate overhead reductions that enabled the company to significantly increase cash flow.

Tim was elected to the Board of Finance in 2001 and as chairman of the Education committee, Tim developed a financial reporting model for the Board of Education that identifies discrepancies to budget. Tim is currently serving as Chairman of both the Audit Committee and the Public Safety, Health & Welfare Committee. Tim has a proven record of pushing managers to be more efficient in order to provide necessary services using the least amount of tax dollars.

Mr. Abbazia’s city services began in 1995 when he was elected to the Board of Representatives in the 4th District. In 1997, Tim was appointed to the Stamford Planning Board where he served until joining the Board of Finance. Tim is on the Holy Name A.C. board of directors, a member of the Stamford chapter of UNICO (a national Italian/American organization), and a member of the State Street Debating Society.

Tim was born and raised in Stamford. He attended both public and private schools and is a graduate of Stamford Catholic H.S., has a B.S. degree in Accounting from Southern Vermont College, and a M.B.A, degree in Finance from the University of CT. He was married to Mary in June 2001 and they have a child born in June 2003.
