Limited Parking at Springdale Station as Canopy Project Begins

Connecticut Department of Transportation officials have announced that there will be a reduction in the number of available parking spaces at the Springdale Railroad Station in Stamford during the construction of canopies at the station.

Staging for the project has begun and the project is expected to be completed in December.

The Station will remain open at all times.  Both vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be maintained at all times during construction.

Commuters are advised to allow extra time to reach the train station and board the train. The Connecticut Department of Transportation understands the inconvenience of these closures and will complete this work as quickly as possible.

This work is part of an ongoing project to upgrade rail facilities on the New Haven Line.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation appreciates commuters’ patience and cooperation as improvements and upgrades occur on the New Haven Rail Line.  These projects support the state’s continued effort to meet future needs of Connecticut’s public transportation system.

Additional commuter permit parking will be available on Largo Drive (Near Springdale Diner) during the construction period, which is scheduled to last until mid December.
